My Daily Habits As A Successful Entrepreneur

Creating daily habits are important to staying organised, focused and on track.

For me, it’s important to keep a strong structure to my day to ensure that I get sh*t done.

Every entrepreneur will have different habits for a number of reasons: the style of their business, their hobbies and interests, their lifestyle, the way they operate, the size of their team, etc. Regardless of what their routines look like, they will ALL have daily habits of some description.

It can take up to a month to create a new ‘habit’ that you stick to, but having what some refer to as ‘rocks in your diary’ can ensure that you stay focused and tick all the boxes necessary to you having a ‘great day’ – however that looks to you.

To give you an idea, here are some of my daily habits as a successful entrepreneur:

I create a routine

Each day, I do things in the same order. I suspect a lot of people work in this way. In doing so, you know exactly what to start with and what comes next which leaves little time to procrastinate and allows you to get things done quickly and effectively.

I keep the mornings for tough tasks

There will always be things you may end up avoiding or don’t want to do, so getting them out of the way and completed early in the day allows you to focus on easier or more enjoyable tasks for the remainder of your day. The longer you put off tough tasks, the harder they become.

I workout

As the old saying goes, healthy body – healthy mind. I am so into fitness and keeping fit and healthy, so it’s important that I workout every single day. Some days I might go for a quick workout in the gym whereas others I might run 10k but I always have to do something to clear my mind and feel good.

I meditate

As well as working out, I meditate daily to clear my mind. There’s a lot that goes on day-to-day in my business so it’s important for me to ground myself and regain clarity with the use of meditation. I generally meditate in the morning when I wake and in the evening before I go to bed. Even just five minutes of meditation a day makes the world of difference.

I track my progress

Each day, I track my progress against projects or tasks that I am working on at that time. Physically dedicating time to self-evaluation and reviewing progress ensures that decisions are made proactively to ensure success or at least, progress. This is arguably one of my most valuable daily habits.

I schedule time for revenue driven activities

Whether this be meetings with existing or prospective clients, or staffing to allow for more resources, or product development, I always makes sure that at least one part of my day is wholly dedicated to revenue driven activities.

I encourage and motivate my team

Whether this be in the form of a formal 1-2-1 meeting or a simple commendation in passing for a job well done, I’ve made it habitual to encourage and motivate my team around me. It’s important to me that my team feel valued, because that’s exactly what they are.

I make time for my family

Aside from business, it’s vital that part of my day is dedicated to my family. Some days this may be the whole day, others, it may only be an hour, but there’s always time for them. After all, they’re the reason for, well, everything. It’s now a habit to block out a part of my day every day, for them, no matter what.
