I’ve always been intrigued by the various strategies people use to achieve financial success and personal fulfilment. One concept that has particularly resonated with me is the FIRE movement, which stands for Financial Independence, Retire Early. This movement has garnered a lot of attention in recent years, especially among those who seek greater control over their time and prioritise experiences over material possessions. Today, I want to share my thoughts on FIRE and what it means for me and my family.
Discovering the FIRE Movement
The essence of FIRE is to achieve financial independence and retire earlier than the traditional retirement age. The core idea is to save and invest aggressively during the early stages of life—typically in your 20s or 30s—to accumulate enough wealth to sustain your lifestyle without needing a traditional job.
